- 1942 April 29, Wednesday morning – Another house search, another suicide. A physician, a Dr. Korn, Catholic- Jew, wife Aryan. Pillnitzer Strasse. The Aryan wife was beaten; the husband was supposed to report to the Gestapo next morning.
- 1944 December 18, Midday, 12:30 – Wild wartime day. We had to fetch broth before midday, because the Monday supplier in Pillnitzer Strasse opens at nine o’clock, and by ten there is nothing more to be had.
- 1945 February 8, Thursday evening seven o’clock – At Butcher Nacke in Pillnitzer Strasse, where we fetch broth on Thursday and where Eva usually buys sausage, the shop was empty, and the butcher’s wife asked to whom the Jew’s ration card be- longed, emphasized her long-standing friendship with Jews, in particular with Konrad, and wanted to hand Eva the latest Dresdener Zeitung. “There’s someone looking through the shop window — I’ll wrap the bacon in the newspaper.” The bacon was very generously weighed.
